The summer months are full of plants and crops bursting into flower. A great way to get your little ones involved in the gardening & growing process is to allow some of your plants and crops to go to seed.

Encourage your little growers to be alert and look out for the plants that have gone to seed in the garden. Collecting them together and letting them know that they can use these to sow more of these crops the following year. Show them how to burst seed pods such as peas & beans, or lupines. Shake the seeds from ripe seed heads such as sunflowers or marigolds.

Have fun with this project, and get creative by making some colourful seed packets and labeling them.
